In early March, Dr Thompson and Matua Tip Winiata took enthusiastic International students on a 3 day tramp on Stewart Island, Rakiura. 

The tramp is considered one of New Zealand's 9 great walks and features spectacular native bush and scenery and beach scenes. Students stayed in huts beside the beach. The plane ride from Invercargill in a small plane across to the island was also memorable! Thanks to Dr Thompson, Mal Thompson and Matua Tip for organising the tramp.
