Student Council

Olivia Goldsmith —

The 2020 Student Council have achieved a great many things this year, despite some of our plans being shaken up by Covid-19 and lockdown.

Our longest project has been the Lilliput Library, which despite a few hiccups is slowly but surely in the process of being completed. As well as this, you may have noticed the various posters we’ve put up around the school during the year with the Lenny the Lemon character, created by Holly Bettis. Lenny promotes positive wellbeing, and he had his own display in the library for Mental Health Awareness Week. We’ve organised several mufti days this year, raising money for charities such as the Dunedin Women's’ Refuge, Mental Health Awareness Week, Pink Shirt Day, and Yemen. On top of this, we ran events such as the Standup Comedy event, which we hope to run again next year, and we also interacted with Senior Management to discuss uniform and the roles of Head Prefect.

I am very proud of this year’s Student Council, especially to all those who came along every week even after lockdown. Everyone put a lot of hard work in this year, well done!
