Curtain off for a fashion show - oh la la!

Heike Cebulla-Elder —

Our Year 10 French and Korean classes discovered each other’s language and culture through organising a fashion show together in September.

After learning about clothes, colours and lots of specific vocabulary related to the topic of fashion, our students were ready to present their unique looks to each other. As you can see from the photos, the styles ranged from elegant outfits to a variety of sporty and very interesting ensembles to wear to the beach, to town or just at home to relax. I learnt that in Korean your verb form changes depending on what you wear and that in French, most adjectives go after the noun – so you wear trousers red and a shirt green and elegant….the question then is what do these language features tell us about the respective cultures.

Thank you to all our models, presenters and photographers!
