2017 was the first year of what we, the team members of the Logan Park Hice-Curl curling team, believe to be a long and successful career for LPHS as a curling school. 

The outstanding performances of Lena ‘Lean-ahh’ McNaughton, Ben ‘Booty Ben’ Clayton, Lucas ‘Luke-Ice’ Dubyk, Benjamin ‘The Sweeper Keeper ’ Dubyk and Brjánn ‘The Curlnel’ Hróbjartsson lead the team to take 2nd place in the Dunedin Co-ed tournament and 3rd place overall in their division. The team received much praise for our efforts and were told that, for beginners we were very good. Brjánn got the biggest compliment of all when Simon, the competition coordinator, confused him for Logan Park’s very own Oscar McGuire head boy.

Curling this year has been a great experience that I’m sure we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Stay tuned next year for when Luke-ice takes over as the new skipper of the famed Logan Park Hice-Curl curling team. #Curling4Life
