Makers Club End of Year Report

Holly Bettis —

The first year of a brand new club for the Logan Park art department!

The Makers Club is a collective of students who create their own products by painting, knitting, felting and moulding clay. Our aim was to create a support system for students to be able to understand art as a business form. We held our own market in the art department where we sold our artworks in the art department to other students and to staff. It was amazing to see all of the talented students come together to support one another with their work.

Although it has definitely been a hard year, the Makers club has managed to come together to create a colouring book for Kids Can which we are hoping to sell in the school office and at our market day during youth week. We also teamed up with the Enviro club to paint their mug libraries so that we can faze out single-use cups at the canteen. Thank you so much to everyone who has been involved and I'm so excited to see what all of these wonderful makers keep creating over the years! I am so proud of all that they have done.
