I’m sure the ancient Romans would be proud of us at Logan Park with our 6th consecutive win at the Otago Junior Classics Quiz. We celebrated our success with a Mt Olympus party, wondering how the gods ever got away with doing what they did. As well as following some ancient traditions, we follow a few AD 3rd millennium ones of our own including “cicero”, “calculi” and “fruti bursti”.

Highlights of the year included our 3 junior teams’ success at the Otago Junior Classics Quiz:

• 1st place to the Athenians  team of Clair Caird, Ben Clayton, Max Riddle and Cameron Bayne
• 2nd place (by a ½ point in the tie breaker question) to  Oscar LaDell, David Spencer, David Prime and Ruari Warren
• 3rd place to Eli Pearson, Mica Goldsmith-Lonie, Linda van der Linde and Zoe Jamieson
•  Oscar LaDell gained 1st place in Otago Latin reading.
