Farewell James Govan

We farewelled PE / Health teacher and football / futsal coach James Govan at the end of Term 2.

James has been an outstanding, inspiring and popular teacher. He has taught fulltime at Logan Park High School since 2014.  He is moving to Australia with his partner and they will welcome their first baby later this year. 

James is an excellent teacher and has taught Physical Education, Health and Mathematics.  He builds relationships with all students and has excellent communication skills.

James leads by his positive example and is hugely respected and well-liked by students, families and all of our staff team.

An impressive sportsman, James is a talented, motivated and successful football and futsal coach and has coached teams every year since 2014. He has coached both junior and top school football/futsal teams through multiple competitions and tournaments. He has been the Teacher in Charge of Futsal and has taken a number of teams through to the National Championships. Additionally in Athletics, Triathlons and Get2Go he has trained and supported athletes attending regional and national championships. Students and families have appreciated his wisdom and support.

James fully commits to the life of the school. He has attended both junior and senior Outdoor Education weeklong camps as well as Ski/Snowboarding Camps every year he has been here.

He enjoyed his final week at school as staff, students and ex-students and whanau  acknowledged his huge contribution to our school.  A special highlight was the tribute from his football/futsal current and ex-team members.
