Learning French through handball, markets, fashion show and cooking
Our quatrieme and troisieme (Year 9 and 10 French) had ample opportunities in Term 2 to use their French in authentic situations.
We organised a market in class and even sold some waffles as a fundraiser for our 2024 New Caledonia trip. Then we had our annual fashion show with themed presentations and live music in our classroom.
Thanks to Mrs. Weston we were also able to use our kitchen to prepare delicious French fare ranging from Madeleines and Crepes to Macarons.
Our Year 9 French class learnt some basic Handball moves and felt inspired by John Barham to maybe take this sport up as an extracurricular activity at LPHS.
Overall it gave the students a really good possibility to use their language in real situations and learn more about French culture.
