The closing date for our Year 13s to apply for University Entrance Scholarships is August 15.

Each year, our Year 13 students win around $400,000 in scholarship money from New Zealand universities to help with their tertiary studies.

Many have already completed their applications - if not, it is not too late! Otago applications close on August 15.

The process is simple - just go to the website of the university you wish to apply to and follow the steps!

In 2024 over half the school leavers starting at Otago received a scholarship – in 2025, that could be you!

• Scholarships are not only for academic performance. There are a range of scholarships for sporting and cultural achievements, and to help with barriers relating to hardship, equity issues and disabilities

• You only need to apply ONCE to put you in the running to receive any of our scholarships you are eligible for 

• A scholarship at Otago means a guaranteed place in one of our Residential Colleges (except New Frontiers)

• Scholarships range from $2,000 to $40,000
