Logan Park Cultural Narrative
In June we hosted Megan Potiki who presented our school's cultural narrative.
Earlier this year, our Board of Trustees received our Cultural Narrative from Kāi Tahu with a focus on Otago and the area our school is located. Board of Trustees Chairperson, Ronda Grills introduced Megan who then presented our narrative and responded to questions. Megan hails from Ōtākou and is of Kāi Tahu and Te Ātiawa descent.
Megan was formerly a full-time lecturer in Te Tumu school of Maori, Pacific and indigenous studies at the University of Otago. Megan is now in a leadership role at Otago Polytechnic where she is manukura tuarua-mana taurite / partnership and equity deputy chief executive.
The audience appreciated hearing the historical context for our kura.
