Felix Pettigrew's Silver Lining in Tahiti

Frankie Vella —

Felix Pettigrew returned from the Oceania Youth Handball Championships in Tahiti this December with a hard-earned silver medal, a testament to his dedication and skill.

Representing New Zealand in the U18 team as a goalie, Felix played a crucial role in their journey to the finals, where they narrowly missed gold against a strong New Caledonian side.

The path to Tahiti was paved with intense preparation. Felix participated in four rigorous training camps held in Christchurch and Auckland, honing his abilities alongside the nation's best young handballers. This commitment reflects his passion for the sport, a passion he's nurtured for four years at Logan Park High School.

Now in Year 13, Felix is a key figure in Logan Park's handball program. His experience and knowledge are invaluable, and he's eager to share them with younger students, ensuring the sport's continued growth within the school. His silver medal is not just a personal achievement, but an inspiration to aspiring handball players across New Zealand.  If you would like to join a Logan Park Handball team contact Ms Vella - frv@lphs.school.nz
