Vietnam Trip April 2019
Twenty nine students and staff travelled to Vietnam during the April school holidays and had a fantastic tour from North to South encompassing many aspects of Vietnamese history, culture, cuisine and geography.
Highlights included, sailing on a junk in Halong Bay among two thousand islands, trekking with local guides in the Mountain area of Sapa, crossing the busy, noisy streets in Hanoi, surviving the cramped overnight train trip, dressing up in imperial clothes for dinner, having clothes personally made in Hoian, cruising across the Mekong river, crawling along war tunnels and bartering for souvenirs from the local traders. Our guide Hoang was superb throughout and he gave our school high praise by saying ours was the best tour group he had ever taken in fourteen years of guiding.
The students have returned wiser from their travels and perhaps aware of the great opportunities we have ourselves from living in our own very special country.
Life is a journey, not a destination.
