Fun in Food Technology!

Year 10 Food Technology students have enjoyed planning an original food product to develop, trial and sell at a lunch time Market Stall.

Items have included pizza balls, turtle cookies, churros with caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream with sherbet, itty bitty pies, taco bowls with chicken and salsa, linked doughnuts and dessert pizzas! Students costed out their recipes, used food safety and production plans and then had the excitement of selling their food to real people!

As part of a Preservation and Packaging unit of work, Year 11 Food Technology students dehydrated roasted and pureed pumpkin to a powder and then used this the next day to make a pumpkin soup - just like one made from fresh pumpkin!
