Ben Deaker, Year 13 is the Captain of the NZ Schools Diving Team.  

In August Ben competed in the  Australia NZ School Games at Lightning Ridge in  New South Wales.   There were 115 top divers competing and Ben won a bronze medal in the Teams Synchro event.   In September, Ben competed at the South Island Champs and won 4 gold medals in 1 metre, 3 metre platform and syncho events.   

Ben competed at the Nationals in October was first on platform, second on 1 metre and 3rd on 3 metre. His Otago team performed well with top 3 placings in most events. He also plans to compete at the Olympics in the future.
