Junior Show 2018

Christine Colbert —

This Year’s Junior show involved over 100 year 9 and 10 drama and dance students and they performed to over 1000 local primary school students over three mornings.

The Runaway Presents written and directed by Christine Colbert featured five presents running away from Santa because they didn’t want their wrapping torn off on Christmas morning. Santa and the elves enlist the help of the singing detectives who finally run to the palace of King and Queen Grump, their grumpy children and their grumpy subjects. But not before the presents are taken to the warehouse of unscrupulous business owners and chased by a load of bargain hunting shoppers. Now the presents with the help of great advice from the toys in the warehouse have realised it is not the outer wrapping but what is inside that counts. Luckily Santa saves the day and the presents are in time to go to their new family the Grumps have cheered up and become the Crumps and everyone has a happy Christmas.

John Dodd and the Junior Show band provided great music throughout the show and were hugely appreciated by the children and the full house of family and friends for the evening show. It was a colourful and fun way to end a busy year in the Drama Department.
