We celebrated a colourful and musical Indonesian themed event at Logan Park in June.

We invited the Asia New Zealand Foundation to hold the event at Logan Park as part of encouraging positive relations with Asian countries. New Zealand's population demographics are changing and our relationships with Asian countries and cultures will be increasingly important in the future. We currently offer Japanese, Korean and Chinese languages and are exploring offering Bahasa, Hindi and Filipino.
Our new Head of Drama, Diane Dupres spent several years in Jakarta, Indonesia establishing a Performing Arts Department which encompassed Drama, Dance, Art and Music. Diane also taught Drama for 2 years in Malaysia. Ms Dupres enjoyed the opportunity to experience Indonesian music, culture and food again and the chance to play in the gamelan band.
