My Year

Taichi Shiga —

On December 26th I came all the way to Logan Park High School from Japan. It was my second year as a high school student at Logan Park.

I have three memories. The first was House Day. It was fun because we went to the beach, we played games and I made new friends. My second memory was the international ski trip. We thought we were going skiing but we couldn’t because it rained and snowed all day, so we had snow fights and played card games all day. Then we made dinner. We made spaghetti and Japanese Yakiudon. It was nice and afterwards we had ice cream. Even although we couldn’t ski it was lots of fun. My third memory was International Summer School because we did something different every day. On the first day I went to Orokonui where I saw lots of New Zealand birds. Then I went to Olveston which was a large old home. It was beautiful. On Tuesday I went to a movie called The Walk. We have one more month then school will be finished and I will go back to Japan where I will see my family and my friends. I am so excited! When I get back I will buy a lot of new clothes because when I return to Logan Park High School next year I will be in Year 13 and I won’t need to wear a uniform!
