On 23 March 2017, the Lower South Island Chinese Bridge Competition was held at Tahuna Normal Intermediate School.

Logan Park Year 10 students, Adair Clark and Sophie Sun participated in the competition under non-native and native Chinese speaker categories. Both students won first place in this competition. Sophie also won first place in the talent show competition.
