Omimi House Report

Mathew Denys and Ella Dodd —

As always, Omimi has had a great year.

We kicked it off with a radical, 60’s beach party themed Beach Day at Warrington. When we arrived the weather was perfect, and once we got the stereo pumping the mood for the day was set.

Throughout the morning, Year 13 students ran games and competitions including sculptures on the beach, tug-of-war, soccer, t-ball, and Ultimate Frisbee. For lunch the heads of Omimi, Ella and Mathew cooked some 'sweet as' kai on the barbeque. Some people were brave enough to face the coldness of the sea, but others were content to relax on the beach and playground.

Omimi dominated at Sports day, taking out first place yet again! And although it wasn’t judged, we had some of the best costumes and facepaint, if I may say so myself. Banana Boy even made another appearance.

Most recently Omimi came second the inter-house rowing competition — coming second in the last race by only 0.2 seconds!

The Year 13’s have also organised some ripper House assemblies, including a human sculpture-making competition and limbo. We would have even had a dodgeball competition, if the balls hadn’t been 'borrowed' by a PE class.

All in all, it has been an awesome year for Omimi House, and we’re sure everyone is looking forward to another great one in 2015.
