Enviro Club

Niamh Dillingham —

This year has certainly been busy for Enviro Club!

Our first big event was a school-wide cleanup competition during group, with a delicious prize of homemade baked goods.

The success of this event inspired our rubbish roster, which continued for the rest of the year. Every week, a house was allocated to pick up rubbish. At group time, the groups from that specific house spent time collecting litter from our school grounds!

We also began tackling our school’s waste production, introducing recycling bins to most classrooms and corridors, as well as highly populated areas. Despite facing the issue of contamination, we have already reduced the amount of recyclable material being sent to the dump.

So, thank you to everyone who has contributed to making our school a greener environment, especially to the group teachers who supervised their group’s litter collection!
