A number of Logan Park students competed in the National bagpiping competition in Invercargill in March.

The NZ band bagpiping nationals were held in Invercargill on March 13th and 14th. This year the John McGlashan Pipe band competed for the first time in several years.

This band is made up of pupils from intermediates and high schools all around Dunedin and is based at John McGlashan College. There are 5 members from Logan Park High School. Pipers: Sophie Davidson, Oe and Poppy Hayward. Drummers: Louis Robertson and Flynn Hayward. 

The band played in the D-Grade, Juvenile and Street March events. Oe was drum major for the Street March as well. Thanks to Dr Thompson for the loan of his fancy mace. 

It was a fun and successful event. There were only two school bands, the remainder bands made up of predominantly adult players.
