Another great year in the library with all the latest new fiction added to our collection.

Our team of dedicated Librarians, seniors Tia Hibbert and Ella Yiannett, and juniors Eden Cohen, Leila East-Giles, Libby Guthrie, Emma Lloyd, Amy Lloyd, Rosa Miles-Seeley, Ruby Teraki-Thompson and Sam van Alphen-Bennett have looked after issues and shelved the returns at lunchtimes. A big thank you to this hard working team.

At the NZ Post Book Awards Quiz this year we topped all the other schools with the Year 9 team of Sofia Barriga, Libby Guthrie, Rikke Kikkawa-McLeod and Cuba Rust taking first place with 31.5 points out of a possible 40 points after a very close contest.

Our two Year 10 teams also placed, Clair Caird, Ben Clayton, Siobhann Quinn and Oscar McGuire were in second place with 30 points and in third place with 27 points were Jenna Mcnaughton, Simone Millhouse, Rachel Molteno and Pania Throp.

A brilliant effort all round to retain our winning record.

Our Year 9 students have enjoyed the University Book Club Reading Challenge, this year in the form of Reading Bingo. 75 out of 99 students reached their goal and were rewarded with book prizes and UBS vouchers.

9G — Top Reader: 1st equal Rikke Kikkawa-Mcleod and Mary Locker. Highly Commended: Henry Ruan, Niam Tripp, Kayla Burnaby

9J — Top Reader: Josie Burton. Highly Commended: JC Burney, James Checketts, Sarah Stichnoth

9L — Top Reader: Cuba Rust who was Champion Reader overall. Highly Commended: Joseph Araya, Zoe Degas
