Being in the Pacific Island Pearls has been such an amazing experience. 

This year, there were five members with two Year 13's including our amazing leader and teacher Karen Penaia.

We were able to perform at Polyfest this year and the experience and atmosphere was so wonderful, welcoming, and supportive.

During this year, we have had amazing support form Matua Tip; letting us practice in the Whanau Room, staying after hours to help, and accompanying us to Polyfest.

Dancing Polynesian dances has been so much fun; you get closer to the culture and especially, you get closer to the people in the Pearls. It has been a rewarding experience and very moving as it was the last Polyfest our wonderful leader Karen and our amazing Runa would perform at as part of Logan Park High School.
