On Friday the 16th of July four Logan Park students: Elaine Li, Samayah Madill, Oskar Weber, and Bodhi Boroughf, participated in the annual Japanese Trivia Quiz, organised by the New Zealand Association of Japanese Language Teachers.

The emphasis is on cultural and factual knowledge across a range of topics including popular culture, food, geography and daily life. It is a fun event, with prizes including for the best costumes. The Logan Park Team excelled in some areas, jumping to third place after the popular culture round, and finished respectably within the field. This is the second time we have participated, and I look forward to building numbers for next year’s event.

The students particularly enjoyed the food treats provided, perceptively noticing that these were a range of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean-made versions of Japanese specialties.
