In March LPHS welcomed 24 new international students, including a group of seven Thai students who were here on a month-long visit to experience a New Zealand high school.

The other new students were from Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and Japan. The students experienced a barbecue at the school, a tour of Dunedin, a trip to see the penguins on Otago Peninsula and a scenic walk up Signal Hill. They were also all involved in our Race Unity Assembly where students from many different countries  shared a little of their culture with the school.

In August we had had 11 new international students join us.

The students came from Germany, Italy, Poland, Taiwan and Thailand. They are here for between two terms and two and a half years. The students have already thrown themselves into the Logan Park lifestyle — joining sports and clubs, and signing up for Spirit of New Zealand, as well as preparing for a trip to Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook/Aoraki.
