Language learning community
One Friday in Term 1 our 9 French and Japanese classes worked as a language learning community and shared in small groups what they have learned so far.
It was wonderful to see how the students were all kaiako and tauira at the same time. There was wonderful singing in Japanese and lots of poissons d'avril (French equivalent of April’s fool) stuck to everybody’s backs. We also shared knowledge about Momotaro who is a hero of Japanese folk tradition. All these cultural learning opportunities led to learning of colors in both languages.
We definitely want to carry on with these exchanges - so watch this space.
