Robotics Club

Tim Jones —

This year, the robotics club has been working on developing a robot to play pong with itself.

We have managed to educate the masses on computer vision. The software team have developed the software necessary to detect the position and movement of the ball, and the hardware team made designs for the robot to hit the ball.

We have enjoyed occasional games of code golf, where people write code to serve a purpose, with the fewest number of characters.

Liam Scaife was named champion, for his 152 character Roman-to-Arabic numeral program.

Second was Linus Molteno, with his 183 character entry.

Overall there was a nice positive atmosphere, where students could learn and improve their skills in robotics.
