The 2022 season fielded 88 players across nine teams. The Senior Girls coached by Danielle Frost and Erica Stedman, the Senior Boys & Junior Boys coached by Jase Frost. These three teams faced some tough challenges playing in the A grade competition.

Senior A Boys - Jason Frost

The Senior Boys had a great season taking out the A grade competition. Led by stalwart Oe Hayward in his final year averaging 38 points per game. He is the first to say that it was a team of players who stepped up each week. There were some very strong teams in the grade, however we were confident that we could compete and work towards making the playoffs later in the year. The team trained hard every week at practice and made huge improvements. We finished the season 7-5, earning a spot in the playoffs as planned. Our semi final was against a well drilled Kings High School team that had beaten us earlier in the year. We were sure that we were a stronger team this time around. With a fantastic team effort and amazing individual performances from the Hayward brothers, we won a very close game. The following week we won the final against South Otago.

Senior A Girls - Cora Chapman

Smiles, hugs, high fives and celebratory cupcakes. They were exhausted but overjoyed. I am very proud of the hard work and commitment that our team put into the season, as it was this that made it possible. Congratulations to Oe Hayward, Flynn Hayward and Charlie Bauchop who were selected to Otago representative teams. Special shout out to Danielle and Frankie for all their help and support. And to all the parents for their support every week. Great to see. Can’t wait for next year. and the 2023 season squad looks very promising. The senior girls basketball team had a great season this year, competing in both the senior A school competition and the South Island cups tournament, where they didn't come last! The team has loved growing together and improving over the course of the season, and they no longer consider themselves team mates, but as a loving Whānau.

Junior A Boys - Jay Thomson.

The Junior Boys A Team had an epic and unexpected season. For the majority of us it was our first time playing together and it was a harsh start but we built on our positives and abilities with Jason (coach) and had loads of fun. It was an awesome experience to make the finals and we all played so well and we had a very committed team. There was an awesome flow and chemistry within the team and everyone was always on the same page. Hope to see everyone on this team playing again thanks to a great season Kenzie, Moshe, Finn, Dustin, Thom, Tommy, Tobi, Jack, Lukan and Jason (coaches)

Development Teams

Three junior development teams improved constantly under the coaching of Mark Weston the Junior Maroons and Sue Harvey with the Junior Blacks and Erica Steadman with the Junior Girls and demonstrated the depth of growing ability in the school's basketballers. The three social senior boys team who played with a party atmosphere each week.

It was great to see so many Logan Park students take up the whistle as well, often refereeing several games a night. This develops their understanding of the game, their confidence and leadership and communication skills.
