Omimi House Report
Omimi has had a fantastic year of building connections, participation and some great results in House competitions.
Our House day begun, at Warrington Beach to loud chants of “Omimi you’re so fine…” and this proved to be true, we have had a great year. Despite the weather not being ideal at Beach day, we enjoyed games, a swim, and sausages under the pine trees. We ended our time, as we do each year, with a tug of war between groups.
Sports Day was a beautiful day as well, and it was wonderful to see Omimi participating in all kinds of events and seeing the cheery, bright yellow outfits as Omimi students demonstrated their skills on the field and the track.
The Stuff quiz has become an iconic part of group life in Omimi this year and the competition to win each term is fierce. Our other group competition this year was for a group poster or door display. The aim was to have something on your door which represented the individuals and culture of the group. 2/1 took out first place with an incredible door which had something from each student on it, including dried pasta – one of the group member’s favourite foods.
Omimi students have been involved all year in house competitions both sporting and cultural. Our senior O’Mathalon team took out first place and our junior team were also very strong. Many thanks to our senior students who have helped to organize events and house assemblies this year. Also thanks to our incredible team of group teachers who have guided our students this year. We have farewelled Tip, a key member of our team and a much loved group teacher. He will be missed but we wish him all the very best for his new adventure.
We look ahead, with excitement for what 2024 holds for Omimi.
