We had an amazing week of activities to celebrate New Zealand Chinese Language Week in September.

Chinese teacher, Dr Lin Zeng and students organised exciting language and cultural activities at school and at the Dunedin Chinese Gardens. We were able to try calligraphy writing, paper cutting, Chinese painting as well as learning Chinese songs and how to make dumplings and tangyuan (glutinous rice balls). We celebrated Moon Festival with cake tasting. The week highlighted some of the rich cultural Chinese traditions and many students are keen to continue to explore the language. 

We offer Chinese as a subject from Year 9 all the way through to Year 13 and Scholarship. Dr Zeng also teaches and inspires students from around New Zealand as part of NetNZ in an online learning environment.
