Art Department Report

Andrea McSweeney and Pam McKelvey —

Beyond the daily brilliance of the Art Department, there have been some special highlights for 2016.

Emma Langley's photography portfolio work from 2015 has toured the South Island as part of the Top Art Show. Junior students have presented and celebrated their artworks in the gallery Space at school. The Celebrate Art Show was held again this year at art school. Ten students exhibited work and Ola was awarded a highly commended. Students have entered the Canon Photo Competition with results pending.

Molly and Zakk represented the school at The Otago Art Society Youth Art Awards, which Molly fitted in around her many art commissions this year.

All Year 9 classes have visited the Dunedin Public Art Gallery for educational tours taken by John Neumegen.

Looking ahead to 2017 Logan Park will be part of a Fringe Festival event called “Tagged and Released”. This will be an interactive and public art exhibition created by our students.
