Diversity Group

Alex Hall, Diversity Prefect 2018 —

The LPHS diversity group, Technicolour Sandwich, has been at the forefront of many activities this year, including Pink Shirt Day, the Day of Silence, and the Pink Youth Ball, which was the first LGBTQ+ event for high school students in Dunedin.

Technicolour Sandwich aims to create a safe and fun environment for LGBTQ+ and allied students to meet other like-minded people and feel like they belong.

This year the group has focused on self-care and mental health, as well as building meaningful relationships between students of all years.

The group has also pushed for changes in the school such as broader uniform choices for students, and better access to gender-neutral bathroom and changing room facilities.

We look forward to another year of diversity and hope to continue on Technicolour Sandwich’s values into 2019!
