George Sabonadière participated in the 2017 secondary schools essay competition organised by the Association of Former Members of Parliament. The judges commended his essay and placed it fourth in the competition.  

The essay topic asked students to put forward their views on how to get young people more involved in participating in the democratic process including voting. His ideas, along with other commended essay finalists have been collated by the judges and will be presented to the various agencies that have responsibility for educating young people in being active members of our democratic society.
