Te Ropu - Learning Support Class

Amanda Wilson —

It is already the end of another great and productive year, and our students have been busy with their individual learning programs and a variety of exciting opportunities at school and in the wider community.

Working through the SPEC Headway and TRUMP program, many of our students this year have gone away

with accredited certificates.

Combined with our weekly volunteering at both the Salvation Army and Youth-Grow, the students have been continually arming themselves with impressive skills to demonstrate to future employers their capabilities in a range of areas.

Blast-Off, our weekly outing to celebrate the previous weeks successes has always been a favourite of the students and staff.

Activities range from biking, art gallery visits, laser force, and sometimes just hanging out in our wonderful classroom baking, eating, talking and gardening.

Woodwork and Metalwork periods are always productive, with the students producing some impressive work, some taking months to complete!

Our outdoor adventures with Tip during the year always lead to great learning opportunities around our natural

surroundings and pushing our

personal limits through physical activity.

Thank you to teachers and all the support staff, volunteers and wider school community who have supported us this year. You have all helped to provide quality education and a safe learning environment in which everyone can participate!
