Congratulations to Bella Sefo and Kate Will-Tofia on receiving the Otago Polytechnic Pacific Island Awards and Scholarships in 2018.

Both students were presented their awards at a ceremony at the Otago Polytechnic in October. The polytech offers scholarships and recognition awards for Pacific Island high school students who demonstrate excellent achievement in Academic, Cultural, Sporting or Leadership roles in their schools.

Bella has achieved to Excellence level in her Level 2 subjects. She combines her academic abilities with a strong interest in drama, competing in the 2018 Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.

As well as reaching consistently high standards across the range of her subjects, Kate has fully involved herself in the wider life of Logan Park, participating in choir, kapa haka, book club, volleyball and 40 hour famine.

Bella (Year 12) received a Scholarship to pay for one full year of fees at Otago Polytechnic for 2020 if she chooses to study at Polytechnic. Kate (Year 9) received the Junior Award for her success across all of her subjects.
