This year’s top Year 10 Futsal team is deserving of special mention. 

With a formidable force of: Reuben Campbell, Lucan Willis, Shae Moore, Matthew Hendricks, Joseph Araya, Nico Bisi, Eamon Wilson (Year 9), and Calum Rogers, at the start of the season the team was in good stead for a top position.

The defining characteristics of this team were: Shae’s ability to seamlessly skip past players, Joseph’s vision and good decisions at the back, Matthew’s solidity and commanding presence in defence, Eamon’s catlike reflexes in goal, Reuben’s good positioning and wing play, Lucan’s physical presence, Calum’s decisiveness and team work, and our international, Nico Bisi’s all-round good running and skill.

The team went through periods of fantastic team play during the season, to a team of individuals, from an abundance of communication, to being able to hear a pin drop for the majority of the game.The final was against Kings, another team who had not lost a game. 

From the outset, the boys looked focused and determined to put right all the things they knew had hindered them in the past. Our passing was fluent and the movement was impeccable. 4 nil at half time was great, but nothing had been won.The final result was an outstanding 8-3. 

These players have become aware of the importance of team play, and vastly improved their skill with the game.They have all done extremely well and deserve the trophy they won. Well done boys.
