A group of a dozen high school students from Shanghai in China spent two weeks in Dunedin recently as part of a sister city summer school.

LPHS hosted Kailin Huang and Zhang Yan from Gumei High School. The two students took part in a wide variety of activities during the afternoons and were paired up with two of our students studying Mandarin — Jaren Roy and Ava Straw — during the mornings to get a taste of a New Zealand high school.

The pair loved the experience and were particularly impressed by the different subjects that they could take and the forest setting of the school.
