Jamie Byas received the highest award in Girl Guides in September.

Jamie was presented her award by the Governor General, Dame Patsy Reddy in Christchurch. The Queen's Guide Award takes 3-4 years to complete and involves a lot of advocacy and community action and leadership. Georgia Cartwright from Avonside Girls High School in Christchurch also successfully completed her award and both have been involved in guides since they were 6 years old.
