Water polo 2022

Warwick Kain —

Water Polo had a very successful year. Players have continually developed their skills and competitive attitude, and often played above their level, against physically stronger teams.

The LPHS Black team played in the Girls B Grade. They had a tough first term, winning one game. But resilience and determination saw them compete at a much higher level in the Term 4 competition.

The LPHS Maroon team, coached by Year 13 students Shima Jack and Maia Puricelli-Callau, played in the Boys B grade in Term 1. This was a very even/competitive grade, with most games being decided by a difference of one or two goals. The final was played against OBHS and was a very physical game that was played with high energy yet composure, and LPHS Maroon came out victorious.

In Term 4, which is played over the exam period, it was a bit more challenging. At the time writing this there are two weeks to go and they look good for a finals play off again.
