The Senior Girls A basketball team had a tough season this year, we unfortunately didn't win any games but we did improve our skills a lot as we were playing harder teams.

We had decided to play in the A grade which meant that we were able to improve our skills rather than winning our games, so the focus was on development. We went to the Co-ed tournament and had some close games there. The whole season was really fun and we all enjoyed it a lot even when it did have its obstacles. The senior girls basketball also had two social teams and both of these teams did really well in their pools and they also had a lot of fun.

The junior girls basketball had one team this year with mixed Year 9 and 10's. They had a really great season coming 4th in their pool. It was really cool being able to coach them and see how their skills improved throughout the season. They all became more confident with the ball as well. They won most of their games, but also did have some very tough games, which they unfortunately lost. The junior girls team went to the Co-ed Winter Sports tournament. This tournament was a great opportunity for them as they were able to play lots of games straight after each other so they were able to practise lots of new skills.  - Kate Denys

Unbeaten all season the LPHS Breakers Girls Social Team took out a hard fought final with Otago Girls Social team. The girls had a very positive fun attitude to the season. Thanks to the supporters.
