Senior Debating 2022

This year the Senior Debating has included several teams who have enjoyed learning about the art of rhetoric and rebuttal in a structured and civil form and using a range of viewpoints.

The Logan Park 1 team: Jordan Hannon, Eva Woodhouse and Alexander Sun, have experienced considerable success in their debates and have become a formidable team with Eva as first speaker, Jordan as second and leaders reply and Alex as third speaker. Their achievements so far are:

Jordan making reserve for the Otago Regional team,

Eva and Alexander making the Otago Development Team,

Alexander awarded highly commended speaker at the mid-winter tournament,

Jordan and Eva breaking at the mid-winter tournament (in the finals),

LPHS 1 earning 6 wins and breaking for the semi-finals and finals for the Dunedin Schools Debating.

The next debating round will be an exciting one for LPHS1 as they are well placed to compete with such worthy fellow debaters as Columba 1 and Kings 1 to earn a place in the final and complete a fun and satisfying year's debating.
