LPHS Students find success in the New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition

On Thursday the 14th of July, Alexander, Naoki, Mark and myself competed in the New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition (NZPMC) South Island final in Christchurch after qualifying in the first round.

The competition was student-led, with ex-logan park student Paxton Hall and fellow Dunedinite Tobias Devereux writing the questions for the Junior division.

Logan Park was very successful, with Noaki placing joint second in the junior division, Alexander placing third in the senior division, and myself placing ninth in the senior division.

The competition provided a great opportunity to see the University of Canterbury campus, and meet some of the staff.

The atmosphere was relaxed and light, and I would definitely recommend keeping an eye out for the NZPMC 2023 first round next year.
