A large audience enjoyed the Year 12 Film Trailers and Year 13 Short Films on Friday 18 September.

A  group of senior History students, teachers and parents enjoyed their 3 week tour of Turkey, Greece and Italy. They are pictured here in Istanbul.

We enjoyed a wide variety of talent in our 2-day Talent Quest held in the last week of Term 3.

Well done to our cross country runners who ran well in the Otago Co-ed competition in September. Henri Gaudin was second and Hamish McKinley was sixth.

We had Anna Murphy (NASA Aerospace Engineer) come to work with a group of enthusiastic Year 10 science students for five afternoons in Term 3.

We celebrated the many different cultures at Logan Park on Monday 21 September with our annual International Food Festival. Several hundred students and staff enjoyed the wide variety of food from students' countries.

Many schools don’t have enough ice hockey players to field a full team, so we cooperate with each other and make combined school teams. 

On Tuesday the 8th and Tuesday the 15th September respectively the Senior and Junior LPHS Classics quiz teams had the opportunity to prove their worth against competing teams from Columba College, Kavanagh, Kaikorai Valley, Otago Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools among others, in the 2015 Classics Quizzes organised by the Otago University Classics Department and the Classical Association of Otago. 

The Excel School of Performing Arts presented songs, dance and dramatic roleplays in Assembly during September.

Year 13 Hospitality have been busy trialling, making and selling sandwiches for sale at the Canteen, as part of a Level 3 Hospitality unit. 

Several students had their writing selected for publication in the Otago Daily Times, Secondary Scene in August.

Congratulations to Meran Campbell-Hood and Jacobi Kohu-Morris who were Logan Park's Class Act recipients for 2015. 

Our annual University Bookshop sponsored Reading Challenge saw 77 out of 100 Year 9 students successfully complete their reading challenge.  Violet Gallop was our Champion Reader overall.

The 46th annual Otago Secondary Schools Music Festival was held at the Dunedin Town Hall on the evening of Monday 7th September. 

Congratulations to all of our successful Blues Award recipients. We held a special assembly on 18 September to celebrate their impressive achievements and service across Sporting, Cultural, Community and Academic areas.

The Get 2 Go Challenge adventure race for Yr 9/10 students is run by Hillary Outdoors each year.

The girls hockey team travelled to Cromwell in Winter tournament week at the start of September. 

Logan Park history students continue to dominate the latest rounds of annual school history quizzes in Dunedin. 

We competed in the Otago Southland regional Get to Go Challenge on 16 September and found the training in sea kayaking on the water with the Otago Polytechnic Sports Institute was useful preparation.

Congratulations to Lara Liesbeth who has won a New Zealand Spelling Bee Teacher Award, in recognition of her innovative and effective teaching programmes which aim to instill a love of language in her pupils.

Students were concerned about a number of global issues and decided to fundraise through selling cupcakes as well as holding a mufti-day.

Congratulations to Jonty Horwell who is the 2015 New Zealand Secondary Schools Indoor Bowls Singles Champion. He competed at the the Secondary Schools tournament during Term 3.

At the end of August our International students appreciated several days exploring Lake Tekapo and some stunning South Island locations.
