More National Shakespeare Success 

Congratulations to Reva Grills and Luke Major who have been selected in the top 24 actors in New Zealand.

Following our stunning success winning the national Sheila Winn Shakespeare Best Play as well as numerous other awards, Reva and Luke have been selected in the top 24 Shakespearean actors in NZ. 

Year 13 student Luke Major and Year 12 student Reva Grills will join the National Shakespeare Schools Production Company 2015 (NSSP) for a week long intensive course, in Wellington, studying aspects of Shakespeare's works and 3 of his plays under the direction of leading NZ directors. Public performances will be performed in the Legislative Chamber of Parliament, Wellington. 

At the national Sheila Winn Festival in Wellington, over Queen's Birthday, Reva won The Outstanding Female Performer Award for her role as Emelia in Othello.

Luke won the Outstanding Student Directed Design/Costume Award for his Love's Labour's Lost interpretation. He previously won the Best Student Director award at the Otago regional competition. 

Reva is a talented opera singer and performer, appearing recently in The Sound of Music.

Students were selected for the National Shakespeare Schools Production Company 2015 from thousands of participants throughout the country. 

After the week long intensive training, students will be selected to travel to the Globe, London representing NZ in 2016. 

And our talented Head of Drama, Sarah Spicer, is travelling to the Globe in 2016 after winning a Shakespeare Centre New Zealand Go Global Award - teaching scholarship. She was selected as one of 20 top teachers in NZ to attend.
