Te Kapua o Te Raki took the stage in Invercargill for the Te Hautonga Māori Performing Arts Competition.

August 25th was National Poetry Day this year, and it landed at LPHS with some potency.

Term Three saw the return of the Otago Regional OMAthalon Competition.

The annual Otago/Southland Get 2 Go Challenge was held on the 14th September here in Dunedin.

We had two lunchtime concerts this term for students to showcase their musical talents.

This year's International Food Festival, (traditionally organized by Kristan Mouat) was a fantastic event where we enjoyed delicious food from various cultures.

The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives; it is open to students in years 3 to 12.

In Term 3, Year 9 students took part in a Reading Challenge.

On the 16th of August, Year 13 Geography headed off on our field trip, this year to Queenstown, to study cultural development in the area.

The Senior Girls First XI Football team attended tournament week in Timaru in August.

This year, the Art Prefects organised the first ever Painting competition. We had two categories, Open (for juniors) and Character design (open to all).

The Logan Park Jazz Band has had a busy year! Nick Cornish has stepped in to fill the rather large shoes left by Mr. Dodd when he retired last year, taking over directorship of the band with flair and passion.

The New Zealand Senior Mathematics Competition ran again in 2023 on Thursday 10th August.

The Boys 1st 11 football competed at the Linwood Cup Tournament at Logan Park during tournament week.

Early this year some budding mathematicians took part in the University of Otago Junior Mathematics Competition.

This year we had a girl's rugby team that competed in the under-15 Development Grade.

Our annual tradition of preparing a play in French (and other languages) was taken on by almost half of the Year 10 French class and we were finally able to put it on stage in September.

On the 27th of August, both the Boy’s and Girl’s 1st XI hockey teams traveled up to Greymouth to participate in the Tier 4 Hockey Tournaments.

At the end of August was the New Zealand Hockey Secondary Schools Tournament, held in Greymouth. Two teams from Logan Park took the eight hour road trip up, one boys team, and one girls team. We stayed for a week and played hockey every day.

Culture Club has been an opportunity for us to exchange our cultures with SMAN 28 Jakarta, a high school in Indonesia.

On Saturday, the 9th of September, nine students from LPHS took part in the annual French Speech Competition at Columba College.

A wonderful evening was attended by an interesting mix of Art and Technology students as guests for dinner by the Year 1 Bachelor of Culinary Arts ākoka in Term 3.
