Maths Guest Speaker: Sam Fernando
In Term 3 this year the Mathematics Department invited Sam Fernando as a guest speaker to share about the pathway to becoming an Actuary.
This is a very lucrative career that requires a confident understanding of both Calculus and Statistics while offering the flexibility of working from home most days.
Year 11 students came along to learn more about this potential career, including which subjects they should make sure to study in Year 12 and 13.
The students asked a plethora of questions ranging from, "Is Calculus or Statistics the more important subject to study?" to, "Do you have to talk in front of people?".
