After a busy year, the Art Department wanted to shine a little light on Emi Sharma, and celebrate her successes.

One of our Year 13 Art Prefects, Emi is a Year 13 Photography student, who has been an active member of our creative community this year. Emi has been in charge of leading the LPHS Photography club this year.  At the end of Term Two Emi organized the LPHS Photography competition. This was a huge success, with over 140 submissions.

During Term Three Emi was awarded the Supreme Art Award at the Otago School of Art Celebrate Competition. Submitting a photograph from her current year's work, Emi won a scholarship for a portion of a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Otago School of Art, should Emi decide to study there.

Alongside Emi’s in school successes, she was also a key organiser for the Zelle Fest this year, a one day Music Festival in Port Chalmers, and most recently had her tee shirt design selected to be on the 2022 Dimmer Tour merchandise shelf.

Naomi Jutel, a Year 13 Painting student was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for a painting she submitted in the Otago School of Art Celebrate Competition.
