Year 10 Japanese Hanami picnic
Near the end of Term 3 we gathered to celebrate the sakura cherry blossom season in the traditional fashion with a hanami picnic under the blossoms.
Hanami is Japanese for flower watching. Students dressed in yukata and shared Japanese snacks and drinks including sushi, hanami dango, which are sweet dumplings specific to blossom season in green, white and pink, green tea and the more modern matcha latte. We were lucky to have the most perfect weather possible.
