ICAS Mathematics Success

During week 6 of term 3, a group of 34 students from Year 9 - 13 sat the ICAS Maths competition.

Students answered a variety of questions on topics such as algebra, measurement, geometry, chance and data, which increased in complexity throughout the paper. ICAS assessments encourage students to use higher-order thinking skills to solve problems.

Every student who enters the ICAS receives a certificate acknowledging their achievement:

  • High Distinction - the top 1% of participants

  • Distinctions - the next 10% of participants

  • Credit - the next 25% of participants

  • Merit - the next 10% of participants

  • Participation - for all remaining participants
