Science Gifted and Talented Selection
Congratulations to Ahi Katai-Mullane, Year 11 who has been selected for the Rangatahi O Te Moana, University of Otago and NZ Marine Studies 5 day residential programme for gifted and talented students in Year 11 and 12 considering a career in the Sciences.
The programme is a 5 day residential programme at Quarantine Island, the Polaris II, and Otakou Marae and runs from 25-29 August. Ahi enjoys Science, and her favourite subject is Chemistry. She is considering studying Bio-Chemisty at Otago University in the future. She was also selected for a similar Gifted and Talented Year 10 programme last year and studied the difference in pH levels and the effects on sea creatures. She loved the experience so is very keen to be involved again this year.
